GFA Loughton FC secure the FA Charter Standard Development Award. This is for the outstanding contribution made by the club towards providing football opportunities and developing children in the area.

We have spent 2 years building our club’s foundations since opening in May 2012, working hard to ensure we met the criteria required to become a Charter Standard Club and then a Charter Standard Development Club. These include having an FA qualified, FA CRB checked coach with every team.

The Essex County FA recently recognised the endeavours of the club through the prestigious FA title, which also recognises the quality of training at GFA. Senior Football Development Officer Ian Bent explained: “The FA Charter Standard Development Award is The FA’s quality kite mark for grassroots clubs. By achieving this award, GFA Loughton have evidenced that they meet all of The FA’s criteria on coaching, administration and child protection and, as a result, they’ve been awarded in this way. My congratulations go to everyone at the club.”

We’re passionate about bringing football to local children of all abilities and we want to give kids the opportunity to receive professional coaching in a positive, fun and safe environment, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and respect. The presentation was a very special and it’s a credit to the hard work of the many volunteers, coaches and managers who run our youth sides. We’ll continue to grow the game and expand the teams so we can provide for children of all abilities and give them the opportunity to play regular league football.
