Our U11 Lions played at the home of premier league champions Chelsea FC in the ‘Stamford Bridge’ Tournament in a later than usual kickoff under the stadium floodlights.

The Lions won their first group game emphatically 6-0 and it was clear to see the boys meant business. Their excellent start continued as they went on to win their group and qualify for the semi finals. Some excellent individual performances and a brilliant team performance saw the boys win their semi against a team whose tactic was to shoot every time they got on the ball but the Lions with their aggressive possession game dealt with the challenge to make it into the final.

For the first time all day the Lions found themselves behind losing 1-0in the final with 10 minutes to go. However once again the boys turned on the style and went on to win 3-1 and lift the Stamford Bridge Cup!

Big well done to the players and coach…ok and the parents too 😉
